The future of 24/7 emergency care in central and western Wilson County is taking shape. Following official Certificate of Need (CON) approval from the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission, Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas is moving rapidly from the planning phase to active construction.

To mark the beginning of construction on this important community resource, Highpoint Health and community leaders gathered on July 31, 2026, for the official groundbreaking ceremony of the new Wilson County Emergency Room. The event celebrated a significant milestone in expanding access to emergency care for Wilson County residents and demonstrated the strong support of local leaders, healthcare advocates, and community members. Once complete, the facility will help bring high-quality emergency services closer to home, enhancing access to timely, lifesaving care for patients and families throughout the region.

  • 8 Specialized Treatment Rooms: Features a highly efficient, safety-first floor plan that includes 6 multi-purpose exam rooms, a dedicated trauma room for critical stabilization, and a secure behavioral health room.
  • On-Site Diagnostics: Equipped with advanced medical technology, including digital X-ray, multi-slice CT scanning, and ultrasound.
  • On-Site Laboratory: A self-contained, on-site lab for rapid, life-saving diagnostic answers when seconds count.
  • Streamlined Access Points: Built with separate, dedicated, and canopied entrances for both walk-in arrivals and ambulance bays.
