We welcome Rafid Hussein, DO to Highpoint Health - Sumner! Dr. Hussein is a gastroenterologist with Highpoint Gastroenterology and Liver Disease in Gallatin, Tennessee. Dr. Hussein treats patients with digestive disorders, helping them relieve pain and return to a better quality of life. A gastroenterologist treats conditions affecting the colon, liver, pancreas, and gall bladder. Dr. Hussein has a passion for preventing colon cancer and performs routine colonoscopies. 

We welcome Brad Leath, MD to Highpoint Health - Sumner! Dr. Leath is an obstetrics and gynecology physician with Gallatin Women's Center in Gallatin, TN. Dr. Leath received his medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV, and completed his residency at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He is native to Sumner County and looks forward to caring for families of Gallatin and beyond.

Elijah Carter, DNP, FNP-BC, is a highly qualified and experienced family nurse practitioner in Gallatin, TN. Elijah completed his education at Western Kentucky University, earning a Doctorate of Nurse Practice in 2021, and a RN-BSN in 2017. He practices at Highpoint Family Wellness - Gallatin with Ascension Saint Thomas, specializing in Family Medicine - General Family Medicine. Patients can feel confident in his ability to address their healthcare needs. Carter is not new to Highpoint Health, as he was previously located at Highpoint Family Wellness - Carthage for a number of years. Carter is familiar with caring for families of Middle Tennessee and is accepting new patients.

Ashley Knight, PA-C joins Highpoint Surgical Associates, specializing in weight loss options with the bariatrics program. Ashley works with patients throughout their journey of weight loss surgery, from intake day and pre-op appointments, to tracking goals post surgery. Ashley has experience in a variety of health care specialties, from emergency medicine, to pediatrics and orthopedic surgery. She received her Masters of Health Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies from South College in Nashville.

Zachary Nix, a nurse practitioner at Highpoint Endocrinology Associates in Gallatin, TN, is board certified in advanced diabetes management. He is affiliated with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists.
