- Highpoint Health – Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas has full-time cardiologists on our staff, two state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization labs, cardiographic services, and a cardiac rehabilitation program. Highpoint Health – Sumner has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart-Check mark for Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Centers. The Gold Seal of Approval® and the Heart-Check mark represent symbols of quality from their respective organizations. Highpoint Health - Sumner underwent a rigorous onsite review in May 2018. Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with stroke-related standards and requirements, including program management, the delivery of clinical care and performance improvement.
- Highpoint Health – Sumner has achieved Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI Accreditation from ACC Accreditation Services, the accrediting arm of the American College of Cardiology again in 2021. This means the facility excels at getting patients having an active heart attack through the catheterization labs and opening their heart vessels within 90 minutes.
- Highpoint Health – Sumner has once again received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. To qualify, at least 85 percent of eligible stroke patients received treatment to restore blood flow to the brain within 60 minutes of arriving at the hospital — timing considered critical to limiting stroke damage.
- Highpoint Health – Sumner was also the only local hospital to receive the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll award. To qualify for this recognition, hospitals must meet quality measures developed with more than 90% of compliance for 12 consecutive months for the “Overall Diabetes Cardiovascular Initiative Composite Score.”
- Highpoint Health – Riverview and Highpoint Health – Trousdale have both achieved Chest Pain Center Accreditation from ACC Accreditation Services, the accrediting arm of the American College of Cardiology.
