The Official Sports Medicine Provider of Vol State Community College Athletics
Highpoint Health – Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas is now the official sports medicine partner of the Vol State Pioneers. Male and female athletes have access to orthopedic, primary and emergency care across Highpoint Health – Sumner's network of hospitals and clinics. In addition to treating injured athletes, our team educates athletes on topics such as the importance of hydration, stretching, and preventative tactics to keep the athletes safe and healthy, hold coaches’ in-services, and alleviate any barriers to care when athletes choose to receive their care within the network of providers.

Highpoint Health – Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas is proud to serve as the official sports medicine partner of Gallatin High School, providing care for Green Wave student-athletes throughout the year. From Friday night sidelines and sports physicals, to injury evaluation, treatment and recovery, our team is committed to helping athletes perform at their best and return to play safely.
We believe great sports medicine goes beyond treating injuries. By building relationships with student-athletes, coaches and families, we help create a foundation of trust, education and long-term health. Together, we're working to keep Gallatin athletes healthy, active and ready to compete.

Back on the Field: Jackson's Recovery Story
Jackson Stroup's senior season came to a sudden halt on September 19, 2025, when a fractured knee ended his high school football career and threatened the college football dream he had spent years pursuing.
"He told me he wanted to play college football... I thought that would be impossible within a year," recalls Dr. William Beauchamp, orthopedic surgeon at Highpoint Health - Sumner. "But with this kid... anything is possible."
This is Jackson's story. A story of resilience, belief, and chasing a dream.
