Highpoint Health Encourages Women to Prioritize Breast Health During Breast Cancer Awareness Month
September 18, 2026
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of early detection and preventive screenings. Highpoint Health is encouraging women across Middle Tennessee to take charge of their breast health by scheduling a screening mammogram and taking advantage of special events designed to make screening more convenient and accessible.
What Is a Screening Mammogram?
A screening mammogram is a diagnostic exam used to detect breast cancer before symptoms develop. These routine screenings can identify cancers at an earlier stage, when treatment is often most effective and outcomes are generally better.
For most women, a screening mammogram is considered preventive care. Many insurance plans cover screening mammograms at little or no cost to eligible patients. For individuals who do not have insurance coverage or whose plans do not cover the exam, Highpoint Health is offering a $99 self-pay screening mammogram special during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
