Winchester, TN — Highpoint Health – Winchester with Ascension Saint Thomas is proud to announce the arrival of its first da Vinci XI Surgical System, a landmark enhancement to the hospital’s surgical program. The new technology, which expands access to minimally invasive procedures for patients across the region, was made possible by a nearly $2 million investment by Lifepoint Health.
The new surgical robot system enables surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced precision, dexterity, and control. Highpoint Health – Winchester’s adoption of robot-assisted surgery means patients may experience less pain due to tiny incisions and smaller surgical movements, shortened hospital stays, and potentially fewer complications.
“Investing in robotic surgery represents our steadfast dedication to providing advanced surgical care right here in Winchester,” said Adam Martin, CEO of Highpoint Health – Winchester. “By blending innovative technology with the expertise of our surgical team, we are ensuring that more members of our community can benefit from safer, less invasive procedures—without having to travel far from home.”
The new robotic system will support a broad range of specialties, including general surgery, gynecology, urology, and colorectal surgery.
Highpoint Health – Winchester remains committed to advancing healthcare for the communities it serves by investing in state-of-the-art treatment options and empowering its surgeons and care teams to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
