Wilson County is Growing. You Deserve Better Access to Emergency Care, Close to Home.

With the rapid growth of communities in Wilson County, residents need more access to critical emergency services. The proposed freestanding ED (FSED) in Wilson County, near the intersection of Highways 109 and 70, will provide 24/7 quality emergency care for adults and children in an underserved portion of the county, as well as provide the community with another choice in where they receive care.

We need the community’s support to gain adequate state approval required to build the facility.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a freestanding emergency department?

A freestanding emergency department (FSED) is an emergency room that is not physically connected to a hospital. It provides the same high level of critical care as a traditional ER, but closer to home. If more care is needed, patients are seamlessly transported to their hospital of choice.

What health insurance will be accepted?

Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas takes all major health insurance types. HIghpoint Health is committed to caring for its neighbors no matter their ability to pay, including Blue Cross Blue Shield S Plans.

How much traffic and noise will this create?

Very little. Sirens are used in only the most extreme health emergencies and we purposefully selected a site located along major roads. Highpoint Health is committed to being good neighbors.

What is the location?

We plan to build this FSED near the intersection of Highways 109 and 70, which is geographically isolated from other freestanding ERs in the county and located many minutes away from existing hospitals.
