Trousdale Medical Center Names Chief Nursing Officer
Debbie Brown, RN, Brings Years of Experience in Nursing Leadership to Hartsville

Administrator of Trousdale Medical Center Bill Mize today announced Debbie Brown, RN, has been named the new Chief Nursing Officer at the 25-bed critical access hospital in Hartsville. 


Brown comes to Trousdale Medical Center (TMC) from Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, the 155-bed flagship hospital of HighPoint Health System.  Brown brings more than a decade of nursing management experience to TMC.  Prior to her most recent role as Bed Management Coordinator, Brown was a nursing supervisor for nine years.  From 1989 to 1997 she worked as a medical surgical pediatric nurse. From 1997 to 2001, she worked as a nurse in the Critical Care Unit at SRMC, and from 2001 to 2011, she worked as a nursing supervisor.  Prior to her work at SRMC, Brown was a home care nurse for Beverly Home Care and a medical/surgical nurse at Tennessee Christian Medical Center. In addition to her experience in nursing, Brown has also served as a nurse instructor, teaching Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

As Chief Nursing Officer, Brown is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, and evaluating all aspects of Nursing Services and other assigned areas of service at TMC.  She will also collaborate in the formation of overall hospital policies and ensure nursing services offered through the hospital remain consistent with the vision, mission and goals of HighPoint Health System.

Brown earned an associate’s degree in nursing from New York Regents College, New York, a bachelor’s degree from Saint Joseph’s College, Standish, Maine, and will soon complete her master’s degree in nursing from Saint Joseph’s College, Standish, Maine. She and her family reside in Portland.
