Riverview Regional Medical Center Adds Physician
Brent Staton, M.D., Specializes in Women's Health, Family Medicine and Aesthetics

Riverview Regional Medical Center Administrator Jimmy D. Stuart today announced Brent Staton, M.D., has joined the medical staff at the Carthage hospital.

Dr. Staton, who specializes in women’s health (gynecology), family medicine and aesthetics, comes to Carthage from Chattanooga, Tenn., where he recently completed his residency in family medicine.

“We are pleased to have added Dr. Staton to our medical staff at RRMC, giving the residents of our community more options to choose from when looking for a provider of family medicine, women’s health and aesthetic medicine,” said Stuart.  “Dr. Staton has extensive training in these medical specialties and will be a valuable asset to both our hospital and our community.”

Dr. Staton earned his doctorate of medicine degree from Flinders University of South Australia, Adelaide, South Australia.  He completed his residency at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, in the Department of Family Medicine.  He also earned a master’s degree in sports health science from Life University in Marietta, Ga., and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville.

“As demonstrated in the recent Women’s Health Report Card for our nation, women’s health needs are often overlooked by busy women leading busy lives,” said Dr. Staton. “I believe we can improve the health outcomes of women in our community by putting more emphasis on their unique and individual health care needs, starting by offering them the personalized services they need, close to home.”

He is a member of the Tennessee Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, Tennessee Medical Association, American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and is a junior fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is board eligible for the American Board of Family Medicine and is a diplomate of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr. Staton’s community involvement includes serving on the board of directors of the River Valley Division of the Tennessee Chapter of the March of Dimes, as well as serving on the organization’s program services committee and grant review team.  He has also participated in the Hamilton County Low Birth Weight Task Force.
