Riverview Regional Medical Center Names Director of Nutritional Services

Lauren “Kelly” Silcox, RD, LDN,  has been promoted to Director of Nutritional Services at both campuses of Riverview Regional Medical Center (RRMC) in Carthage, according to Administrator Jimmy D. Stuart.

Silcox has been the hospital’s Interim Clinical Dietician for the last year.

“Kelly has done an outstanding job serving in her interim role in the department of Nutritional Services and is extremely deserving of this promotion,” said Stuart.  “I know she will excel in her new responsibilities as director of Nutritional Services.  Kelly’s competence in her field and her dedication to our hospital and our community made her the ideal choice to fill this important role at RRMC.”

In her new role, Silcox is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the nutritional services functions at both the north and south campuses of RRMC. She also provides administrative direction of the food preparation and service, purchasing, sanitation standards, safety practices and personnel utilization.

Silcox is a 2009 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in Murfreesboro, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science with a concentration in Dietetics. She completed a dietetic internship in 2010 at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and is in the process of completing a master’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science at MTSU.  Silcox and her family live in Carthage.
