Bob Barrett Joins LifePoint Hospitals'® HighPoint Health System in July 2014

HighPoint Health System Chief Executive Officer Susan Peach announced today that Bob Barrett, CPA, will become the Gallatin-based health system’s new market chief financial officer (CFO), effective July 14, 2014.


“We are excited that Bob will be joining HighPoint Health System as our first market CFO in July,” said Peach.  “In this new position, Bob will oversee the financial operations at all four of our HighPoint hospitals.  HighPoint is growing rapidly in response to the needs of the communities we serve. Our goal is to provide the physicians, new technologies and health services that are needed to provide the highest quality healthcare possible, close to home.  To accomplish this, we have created a market CFO position to oversee the combined financial operations of our system and to help drive business growth and efficiencies as we expand and advance the clinical services our communities need today and into the future.”


Bob BarrettBarrett began his career with LifePoint Hospitals®, the hospital company of which HighPoint Health System is a part, as a member of the Audit Services team in 2004. He then participated in LifePoint’s “Officer Development Program” and has served in a number of CFO roles since 2008.  He has also worked closely with the company’s financial leadership team on several projects and comes to HighPoint with a solid reputation as a critical thinker and great leader, said Peach.


Barrett comes to HighPoint most recently from Georgetown Community Hospital, a 75-bed acute care hospital in Lexington, Ky., which includes eight employed physician practices and a regional Centralized Billing Office serving 82 physicians across the state, where he has been CFO since April 2012.  From 2010 to 2012, he was the CFO at Clinch Valley Medical Center, a 175-bed acute care hospital in Richlands, Va.  Prior to that, he was CFO at Logan Memorial Hospital, a 92-bed acute care hospital in Russellville, Ky.  
Barrett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn., and a Master of Accountancy degree from Belmont University, also in Nashville, Tenn. He is a Certified Public Accountant.


Bob, his wife, Shannon, and their three daughters, Annabelle, Madelyn and Kylie, will be moving to the HighPoint Health System service area soon and look forward to becoming actively involved in the community.
