Sumner Regional Medical Center (SRMC), the flagship hospital of HighPoint Health System, started in 1959 as Sumner County Memorial Hospital. In 1994 SRMC became a private, not-for-profit Tennessee healthcare facility.

 

In the early days the hospital had only 50 employees and seven physicians on staff. This Tennessee hospital and healthcare center has experienced tremendous growth over the years and now has more than 1,000 employees and 300 physicians.

 

SRMC is proud to be one of the largest non-government employers in Sumner County, and provides quality care in cancer treatment, cardiac care, same day surgery, orthopaedics, diagnostics, women’s health, rehabilitation services and much more.

Riverview Regional Medical Center (RRMC), formerly Carthage General Hospital offers top of the line healthcare to residents of Smith and surrounding counties.

 

In 1966, Dr. Frank T. Rutherford built Carthage General Hospital and HighPoint Health System acquired this Tennessee hospital in February 2004.

 

More than 80 physicians and mid-level providers are on the RRMC medical staff. Riverview Regional Medical Center provides general medical and surgical care, 24-hour emergency services, skilled nursing, psychiatric services and geriatric care.
